I have never given a book a one star review but it is all that I can give this book. I should have DNF’d this read but I forced my way through because I wanted to get to the end and read the next in the series. I will not be.

The problems
The main character in this book is Detective Dan Riley who is grieving the loss of his ex-girlfriend which is all well and good but all you hear about is “Rachel this… Rachel that…” and it is repetitive and in the end building.

Another issue is the fact that the author uses as many mental health issues as a reason for the crimes that the murderer uses. It is extremely disrespectful and misleading.

Thirdly the fact that the Detective gets to wrong around breaking the rules and living in his own fantasy is extremely unbelievable. There are no consequences for any of his actions.

Lastly, the main character Dan’s chapters are in the first person POV and there is a detailed scene of him pleasuring himself which is completely unnecessary for the story. <spoiler/>

Ultimately this story made me gag
