I'm glad I read this and immersed myself in ideas and stories that are so far from my personal experience. Garza's writing style is very colloquial and conversational, to the point where it's hard to follow at times, but her experiences and perspectives are invaluable. Unfortunately, this is a book written for this moment, so I'm not sure it's going to be something that has long-term staying power -- but hopefully, we will not need it as badly in the future as we need it right now.
