I enjoyed this book much more than I anticipated. Because I watched the recent adaption first, I was pleasantly surprised that the film is basically a one-for-one adaption. And I wasn't a huge fan of the film, so I was nervous about whether or not I'd like this book, but I did. I have a new appreciation for this story, and Herbert's incredible worldbuilding.
I did find a portion of Part 1 to be difficult to get through, and I wasn't a big fan of the ending. But I do like this book, and I can understand why it's probably the bestselling and most popular sci-fi novel to date.
