Bob Comet may be the most unassuming character in literature. In fact, his last name and its mysterious origin could be the most interesting thing about him. This is why it makes sense that every extroverted weirdo he comes across takes a shine to him. Bob is a retired librarian and events are giving to rise an examination of his life. Bob has experienced misfortune and tragedy, but has maintained a happy existence and managed to be adopted by a series of eccentrics as a confidant throughout his life. Just like them, I found it easy to come to love Bob as a genuinely good person. Bob finds himself in plenty of amusing situations, as well as a few that will break your heart for him. deWitt is a wonderful writer and this story is told with the care and grace that a simple introvert’s life deserves.
