Overall I felt the book was okay. Loved the description of the book. I also liked the concept of the two friends growing up together trope. I liked the characters a lot and found them intriguing.

However, I thought the beginning was a little strange as you spent more time in a "Flashback" then in the actual timeline. I think the book could have been arranged better. I'm not big on cliffhanger endings either.
