Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian

4.0

Whew! That went by quickly. Kurian drops you in, gives you enough to go on, then turns off the lights and starts shooting proverbial guns. She manages she draw her characters well enough that you both really hope they all get what's coming to them while simultaneously hoping they're not next on the block. What I thought was going to be the climax was very definitely not and props to Kurian for that particular tablecloth-yank. The ending seemed rushed, but it was satisfying enough. In the end, I picked up the book again, after I'd finished it, thinking there might be more to know. And then shut it again and picked up my phone to find the characters on Insta. And then took a deep breath and wow, it's pretend! Good book!
