Who doesn't love the good ole wounded soldier and nurse romance? Nobody-fight me.

We have Blizzek from book 1, he's still enlisted in the war but at the beginning of this book he's injured badly and tries to crawl away, only to black out somewhere in the forest. Now, cue lovely sweet natured human widow who lives on a tiny farm deep in the forest. She lost her husband in the war and after being alone for a year she decides to help how she can; healing. She stumbles upon our MMC and drags his big orc body back to her home and continues to nurse his wounds.

Right away we know something is sparking between them irrespective of the growls and snarls. I loved this mini lil slow burn situationship they had going on in the cabin while playing doctor. I won't spoil anything but OMFG I SOBBED. THE AUDACITY of this third-act breakup.

No cheating in this story, however, there is a very adorable like sickenly sweet comfort rebound'ish'inda. NGL I was kinda rooting for the competition. I said what I said.

I vote: Read it
