Double Blind by Iris Johansen, Roy Johansen
2.0
DNF: never read anything by them before. a few red flags early on, but the story was decent. i had to stop reading after kendra and lynch had their first sex scene, tho.
i don’t read mysteries/thrillers for sex, but if it’s done we’ll (i.e. tastefully) it’s ok. this was painfully bad, tho. read like a wannabe penthouse letter. and the last few lines had me laughing: “heat. heat. heat. heat!”
so, i assume the sex was hot, then?
trying WAY too hard to make it sexy and totally incongruous with the rest of the story. like an editor told them: ‘needs more spice! can you shoehorn a really “hot” sex scene in the middle of the book? that’s perfect.’
oh, and her blind neighbor, Olivia “seeing” kendra “ in that vestibule croaking”?
sigh.
