Final Girls by Riley Sager

3.0

I read this after reading Sager's "The Last Time I Lied" and while I enjoyed the overall idea of the plot I thought it took WAY too long to get to the meat of the story. I also found myself very annoyed at Quincy for her trust in Sam and her Xanax addiction. It just seemed like she was spiraling and way too gullible/trusting for too much of the novel.

I will say that Sager's novels are one of the few thrillers I can read and not guess the killer, which I greatly appreciate. I also enjoyed how they had two narrators for the audiobook to represent past and present Quincy. If they had taken a couple chapters out of the middle I think I would have enjoyed "Final Girls" more, but it was still an interesting read and a fresh perspective on massacre survivors.

If you haven't read "The Last Time I Lied" I would strongly recommend reading it if you felt lukewarm about this book.
