“Your mother—my mother—we can never understand their torments. Their hurts. We may suffer the consequences of their mistakes and their sins, but we should not carry them on our hearts. We don’t deserve that.”
The world building. There's some a LIL BIT more development of its world building but still it's very thin for me. There are so much new places/locations, but these locations aren't described in detail so it made me a lil bit overwhelmed to grasp the new places as the characters were moving constantly from one place to another place. But still, it giving more weight compared to the first two books.
The plot. Is it just me? I feel like the plot is a lil bit more slower than the first two books, especially at first half of the book.
We still have 3 POVs and here, it felt like nothing ever went right and there's no hope for any of the characters until I feel soooo devastated and frustated for them. The twist was the most heartwarming yet heartwrenching thing.
The characters. This book was dedicated for Helene Aquilla a.k.a The Blood Shrike.
- Helene, I should say, out of the three mcs, Helene has the best character development. The way she was going through -she got hurt, fear, and then she got her power and fight for the battle- she was unmade and broken and then she rising up again just made me want to give her a hug and applause.
- Laia, sure she's more mature compared with herself in the previous books. Here, she gain her leadership role. But I find her too kind? unrealistic? like, I know you want to save everybody but at the same time making it difficult for your teammates?? that is impossible and selfish, no?
- Elias, gosh, I really feel sorry for him.
Overall, I enjoyed it especially the 2nd half of the book. The story leaves me heartbreaking and hanging and I can't wait to read the last book of the series.
