Don't Worry, Life Is Easy by Agnès Martin-Lugand

5.0

A touching sequel to Happy People Read and Drink Coffee.

What’s the story this time round?
Diane has been in France for around a year after she left Ireland. Her life’s back on track. She bought the Happy People Read and Drink Coffee café from her parents, the café’s thriving, and she has found a new man, Olivier. Life was better than ever for a couple of weeks after she first met Olivier. Though she hadn’t forgotten her time in Ireland. She had tried to get in touch with Edward, Jack and Abby, but her voicemails were unanswered.

One evening, Olivier took her out for a date and to her slight dismay, they went to an area with Irish culture on show. This reminded her of her time in Ireland, the happy memories and the sad memories.

While moving through a crowd of people, she heard a familiar voice. And that voice is Edward’s. He’s in Paris for a photography exhibition. He hasn’t changed even a little since she left Ireland. A cold bloke, he is.

She invited Edward over to Happy People Read and Drink Coffee, and began asking him how’s Jack and Abby, did he receive her voicemails. Edward shared a depressing news, that Abby’s suffering from ill-health and she may not have much time left.

Upon hearing this news, Diane decided to go back to Ireland for a short while. And she did so not once, but twice.
