It's been a minute since I finished this book, and promptly gave it five stars; I figure I should write something about it now.
This book grabbed me and did not let go until the very end. Reading Fire and Hemlock felt like being transported into a magical realm, even though the story takes place on Earth. I remain fascinated by the flow of time in the book, even looking back at it well over a year after reading; following Polly through years of her life and also feeling just as confused as she did throughout. The climax and resolution of the story was the only part I felt could have been presented differently. Otherwise this book was incredible.
