Uncanny: The Origins of Fear by Junji Ito

informative fast-paced

4.5

Let me start off by saying I never read Non-Fiction, especially memoirs or autobiographies. I have nothing against them, it’s just not what I gravitate towards. My brother bought me this for Christmas knowing I’m a fan of Junji Ito. So naturally I was going to read it.

This was enthralling. I loved every second of it. It was so intriguing to see how this man’s brain works, how he decides to create his stories, to even the state in which the panels are layed out. He comes off as a very humble man.

I only wish there was a little bit more in regards to his life. The first section is the bulk of it and then you get some more nuggets throughout. Would have loved to have had a slightly longer section for that.

Adore the little flip book!
