Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
4.0
This book is everything!

I enjoyed the slow introduction to this story, and the way it slowly build up its plot of the story, and the main characters of the story are fascinating and interesting that often time it was hard to depict them as fictional characters with how realistic they were written.
There was a lot of mystery surrounding Alex and who she is, and witling the book some things were explained but still half are remined in shadows for the reader to be wonting more and more to read, I will be very interested to read the second book once my book ban will be lifted in 2023.
In the book itself I kept thinking about Alex and Darlington and I can tell and from what I saw that a lot of people ship them together which I do not blame but its sad.... about the fate of Darlington fate in the story itself. It would have been fascinating to see them together but if that did not happen in the first place, I wonder what is going to happen in book 2.
Questions I answeared on the buddy read itself
1. Were you immediately drawn into the story—or did it take a while?
I was hooked on the first line of the story itself but it did take a long while to really get into the book itself.
2. Have you read the author’s other books? Can you discern a similarity—in theme, writing style—between them? Or are they completely different?
I did read Leigh Bardugo Shadow and Bone or the Grishaverse not all all of the books, but I feel there is a huge diffrence from the Grishaverse to this one, which I am glad becouse I am kind of enjoying more this book then the others.
3. Is the plot well developed? Is it believable due to its setting in the real world?
I am quite unsure but I do love how Alex just feels so natural like an actual humen being instead of just a fictional character if it makes sense. She had flaws and she has her strong suits, which is quite a breather to see in charaacters in books these days.
4. Can you pick out a passage that strikes you as particularly profound or interesting? That made you laugh/stare at the book or screen for some time to really think about what you just read.
There was so many and I am not even half way in the book itself, some scenes makes me want to scream. In a good way...
5. Which characters do you particularly admire or dislike?
Alex! Stright up ALEX!
