The letters were the best part of this book, they were intimate and raw and beautiful. The writing between Roman and Iris were honest and an undercurrent of longing. Roman and Iris’ relationship was vulnerable and emotional. They formed a connection and found solace with each other.

The book was beautifully written, almost poetic and lyrical. The writing truly was exquisitely beautiful.

I wish though that we got more of their rivalry. It felt a bit rushed to get to the war and more one-sided…I also would have wanted a bit more politics. I wanted more mythology about the gods and their history.
