The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez

5.0

“You can’t control the bad things that happen to you. All you can do is decide how much of you you’re going to let them take.”
― Abby Jimenez, The Happy Every After Playlist

Woah! I absolutely devoured this book and loved it! I seem to crave everything Abby Jimenez creates; look at these perfect cupcakes she made at Nadia’s Cakes.

I would recommend reading The Friend Zone first, then read The Happy Ever After Playlist (even though they are technically stand-alone books). Since I met Sloan in The Friend Zone, my heart was rooting for her to find love again. Her second love story did not disappoint! Jason is the Minnesota-grown gentleman who is on the fast track to stardom as Jaxon Waters. Sloan and Jason are meant for each other, and their story gives you all the feels! The Friend Zone book series is now tied with the Coffee Girl series for my favorite romance books of all time.

I love the book mention of the Glensheen mansion in Duluth, MN. I worked here for 4.5 years as a tour guide and event staff during my undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Minnesota Duluth. I LOVE this house. I have a sticker on my bedroom window that says, “My other home is Glensheen.” The Glensheen mansion was built between 1905 to 1908 by Chester and Clara Congdon. Unfortunately, it is well known as the place where the double murder of Elizabeth Congdon (daughter of Chester/Clara) and her night nurse happened on June 27, 1977. Many people come to hear about the murders. However, once they enter the year 1908 by stepping through the front door, they are astonished to see the family’s collection of original furniture, artwork, decorations, and other personal belongings. The house feels like the family left for the day, and they will be returning that evening. I’m biased, but Minnesota is beautiful, especially the north shore. The Minnesota north shore is a place everyone should visit in their lifetime!
