If you love small, corrupt town detective stories with teenage boys coming up missing and found murdered inside of a famous amusement park, then you're going to love this book.
I flew through this book. It had all of the elements I like about detective thrillers -- detective work (duh), serial killer running loose, dead bodies showing up, corrupt small town in the pockets of the rich, some small romance, and a loving family going through hard times. You also find out that deputy chief Vinessa Castro isn't as perfect as she looks. The small town of Seaside also looks perfect on the outside, but on the inside, it's the worst.
There are a lot of twists and turns. I thought I knew what was going on, but then another twist would be thrown in and would make me rethink things through all over again.
Dragon lady is a horrible person. The author did a great job at not over villifying her and making her bad enough to really hate her from the beginning.
If you've seen this book and want to read it, do it!
