putting this down (for now) at 32%, maybe i will come back to it at some point but i think when a book is making you feel like you need a break that isn’t a good sign
at 155 pages i am shocked at the lack of plot and how the book still feel like it is meandering through the world without clear purpose
also, the fantasy aspect is not mentioned at all really at this point which is fine if you’re taking your time to introduce that aspect but the characters and themes presented in this first 32% aren’t interesting enough to keep me hooked until that is fully explored
there are moments that are interesting which is what has kept me reading, waiting for those moments to be expanded on but after these moments the story completely shifts to another character/time/part of the world building, not to come back to these ideas (at least yet)
i would be willing to come back to this at some point but i also think when i do i will have  forgotten everything that was introduced because i didn’t find the character or world that memorable
