This is a series of essays about gender, race, and pop culture. Some of them were ok, some were good, and some were very good. I do wonder if I would have felt differently about it if I had read it when it came out - before Trump, before me too, etc etc. Regardless, the writing was fine, and some of the observations were interesting, just not groundbreaking. The most special thing about the book is how human and relatable Gay is in sharing her thoughts.
