While I could tell that the writing and craft of this book was beautiful, the second person narration felt suffocating and made the main character insufferable, even when I knew I was supposed to be feeling sympathy for him. I also hated that there was no character development of his love interest or his friends or family. Instead of feeling sorry for the protagonist, I was just annoyed by the flowery writing and over-sentimentality of the prose.
