Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster by Adam Higginbotham

dark informative tense medium-paced

5.0

Wow. An amazing piece of investigative journalism. I'm late to the game re: the renewed interest in Chernobyl (mostly thanks to the HBO series), but I'm here now. This book was so, so good. It was tense, informative, and heart-wrenching. The scale of the Chernobyl disaster is mind-boggling, and I think Higginbotham did a fantastic job taking us through the events leading up to the explosion, and the fallout (see what I did there?) as a result.
