I enjoyed this more than I have enjoyed any Shakespeare ever! I didn't think the characters were being too overly dramatic, which is normally my main complaint of his writing. I thought the characters had every right to be upset, and the only time it was over the top was when a character was literally going insane. Maybe I had just never seen past the story in the other Shakespeare I have read, but I found many quotes in Hamlet that were beautiful and philosophical. I thought it had so much more to offer than say, Romeo and Juliet. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about this story just resonated with me. Whatever it was, I'm happy to finally be able to say that I actually really liked one of William Shakespeare's plays!
