How to Kill Men and Get Away With It by Katy Brent
4.0
How to Kill Men and Get Away With It, well I was definitely drawn in by the title of this book and the intriguing front cover.
Although this isn't particularly my typical genre to read, I really enjoyed this blended work of fiction, horror and humour. There is plenty of laughs amongst the dark and serious plot. I really do not relate to the world of gen Z influencers, rich and luxurious lives. But these Londoners were a great set of characters. The main character being Kitty Collins, I found the nuances in her character hilarious, however it really emphasised that what you see on the outside isn't always the truth. She is pretty badass and taking on these sexual abusers through elaborate traps, it's hard not to idolise her.
Unfortunately, I really just didn't like Charlie and the relationship with Kitty. I feel like the connection wasn't strong enough and she really deserved someone to see her strength and appreciate her.
It is worth noting that there should be a trigger warning for abuse, rape, sexual harrassment, suicide, etc. Personally, I don't handle gore very well and there were some pretty graphic descriptions.
This was a fun read and I would really recommend this quick, quirky book.
4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
