"Our love started in the dark.  It was planted in the deepest part of the ground, watered with secrets, nourished through infidelities.  And yet, somehow, our attachment grew into something real, reaching the edge of the surface until we pierced through the darkness of the dirt that held us, into the light of a new day."

The cheating trope is not typically my favorite trope, but Jescie Hall writes so well I was compelled to love this forbidden romance.  This book had so much depth, feelings, and angst. These character's turmoil felt tangible.  The audio performance was amazing!  I loved watching this story that felt so real unfold into something beautiful. I also loved getting to see a glimpse into Kid's story as well, and I can not wait for that audiobook to release.

What to expect:
Cheating Trope (not between the two MCs)
Ex-Convict
Forbidden Love
Forced proximity
