I really got sucked into the book at the beginning but near the end, I had had enough. I was done. I couldn't wait to be finished. That said I found the writing very good even if again near the end I was over the in-depth descriptions and back story to minor characters. I just wanted to get on with it and finish the book. The author does have a way with words, there is no doubt about that. I give it a 4 because it deserves it. I would have given it a 5 if the end didn't drag on as it did.
