The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness (10th Anniversary Edition) by Michelle Alexander

5.0

The New Jim Crow goes into how systems have changed over the years and why, but it also gets down to the root of them and how they are still so similar. They might have changed but they still have the same goal in mind for far too many people in society.

This book really opened my eyes to how all the different systems in the United States are set up to be against the vast majority of society especially for those of color and how it has been that way for far too long.
I'm glad I read this book and I will continue to educate myself on this matter and find ways to help change the system for good.
