THIS BOOK RUINED MY LIFE AND I LOVED IT

— “Kiss me again,” he says, drunk and foolish. “Kiss me until I am sick of it.”

I'm going to calm myself and make this review as spoiler-free as possible.

Okay. Deep breath.

I enjoyed The Cruel Prince and I know that The Folk of the Air is going to be one of those series that'll going to stuck in my head for quite some time. Now after I finished The Wicked King I just don't know what should I do with my life. It's definitely going to haunt me for the next few days and I'm having the first book hangover in this year. I anticipated this book so much and I know I'm going to suffer one way or another. But boy I didn't know that I'd be a total emotional mess after finishing this book.

It was so nice going back to Elfhame.

Let me tell you, there isn't one moment when I rest. There were twists in every corner and unfortunately for most of the time, I didn't see it coming. The pace fitted perfectly with the tension. It was building up until the very last chapter and the climaxes are amazing (yes, I believe there are more than one climax) so I really enjoyed and suffered reading it.

Like the first book, the sequel was beautifully written and I'm enchanted with every single thing of this book. The Wicked King served me almost a perfect package of my ideal faerie book. There's the magnificent world, the jaw-dropping story, and the amazing characters. I just can't get enough of this book.

Talking about the characters, I think most of them has a great development. Cardan and Jude doesn't hesitated to messing up with my poor heart. They stab me clear and thorough, and I loved every second of it. Locke stayed faithfully being the pain in the back of my head while Madoc kept me looking over my shoulder, worrying that he might somehow deceive me. I must warn you to guard your mortal heart because reading this book is going to hurt. A lot.

Overall, The Wicked King amazed me. It's beyond every expectation of mine. I just want to take a moment to thank and praise the queen, Holly Black. Thank you for every laugh, tears, shocked, and giddiness this book brought me. I really can't wait to read The Queen of Nothing WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR TO GET MY HANDS ON THE THIRD BOOK I'M DYING TO KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT.
