The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake
5.0
I wanted to read this book for quite some time but knew that it might be a better autumn read, so I waited patiently. This isn‘t my first book by Olivie since I already read „alone with you in the ether“ and I adored that book. So I knew that I‘ll probably enjoy her writing no matter the story. And I wasn‘t wrong, because her writing is just so marvelous. I love that her writing can be poetic at times which fits the story perfectly. Her writing is just perfect for dark academia books, it‘s so beautifully crafted. I‘m now excited to read the sequel somewhen soon.
The story is about six people (with magical talent) who get chosen by the society to „fight“ for a place amongst them. It tells you the story of the year before five of them gets initiated, in the POVs of all six of them. Which is such a clever choice since you get to know each individual better that way, how they think, why they do what they do and all that. I won‘t say anymore of the plot since I think you should read it to experience it yourself. But all I can tell you is that I loved it so much.
