The Coworker by Freida McFadden

2.0

I think McFadden could have went for a better ending. There were so many plot holes that I don't think this really works. Full review to come.

Full review: "The Coworkers" follows Natalie. Natalie is in sales at a nutritional supplement company and is dating someone new that she hopes becomes something more. However, her day starts off weird when she realizes her coworker, Dawn, is not at her cube at her usual time. And then someone calls saying "Help me". Natalie worries that something has happened to Dawn. She goes to her home and finds a huge pool of blood and Dawn missing. And then we find out some things about Natalie that are not so nice, and through emails that Dawn sent to her best friend, we find out what is going on between the coworkers.

I thought that McFadden did a great setup here, but it all falls apart when there is the reveal. It didn't make sense, and I have to call BS on the number of plot holes in this book. Mainly around the dead body and that no one would come later on to talk to [redacted] and [redacted] later. Honestly the ending was kind of ridiculous to me and it just took me fully out of the book. I don't think this is McFadden's best work in this genre.
