A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson

1.0

I almost gave this 5 stars because I never have to read any more of this series.

This book has some GREAT moments. Androl is awesome. That's about where it ends.

That said, there are multiple new evil forces being added out of nowhere, which makes me wonder why any of the prior 14 books didn't mention them. There are far too many instances of random magic saving the day as well.

Somehow, despite far too much exposition in the prior books, a lot of the scenes still come off as what I would call Deus ex Magicka.

It's tiring to see the good team win at the last second because of random magical nonsense they had no prior knowledge of. It cheapens the entire series and the competence and growth of the characters.

This series exemplifies weak editing, excessive exposition, and what can happen when someone attempts a load of ideas and performs most of them poorly.
