Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou

5.0

4.5 stars - A gripping story about ambition gone awry from its optimistic beginnings to its bitter climax. It almost reads like a mystery as Carreyrou investigates and tracks back the truth to the sources. However, despite Carreyrou's impeccable research, Elizabeth Holmes still remains a mysterious figure due to her lack of public commentary as Theranos unraveled and the court case goes underway. My other minor quibble is that certain stylistic choices (i.e. jumping around between times/sources) made the narrative a bit confusing as to how the pieces fit together. But highly recommend to see the grittiness and grim reality behind the golden veneer of Silicon Valley.
