For what this book is, I really liked it. Meyer really wrote for an intended audience (young adults), so I wasn't expecting anything with literary merit. My only complaint is how weak and whiny Meyer made the main character, never really emphasizing any good or strong traits. The whole damsel-in-distress theme gets really tiring and doesn't send a good message to young women.
