The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
5.0
I was not expecting to love this book for some reason even though I adored The Nightingale. I was swept away though to the wilds of Alaska. I was invested in the story, the characters, and the setting. Even the secondary characters of this book shine bright. This story explores living off the grid, true love, and domestic abuse. I think it handles each subject really well. And I was in tears listening to the ending because it was so touching.
⠀⠀
One theme that stood out to me in this book was everything can be redeemed. Loss, hate, trama, ignorance. None of those is easy to get past, but there is hope that shines in even the darkest of days.
