Starfish by Lisa Becker

4.0

First off, I just want to say thank you times a million to Lisa for being so amazing and kind enough to send me this book (and a little Kings Quarters swag) in advance. I loved my little care package and getting to meet Brad and Marin ahead of schedule!

This book has “solid beach read” written all over it. Seriously. If you’re looking for a new book boyfriend who has just enough edge and mystery to him, stop what you’re doing and go meet Brad.

His attraction to Marin is instant. She checks off all of his boxes, and he’s pining for her from the start. For Marin, things aren’t quite as clear. She refuses to mix work with pleasure, which means Brad is completely off-limits. Sensing her reluctance, the challenge becomes even more promising for him. The two spend hours and days on end stuck in a bus or between cities and can’t help spending time together… with an unreal amount of tensions that just keeps building. Every time I thought they’d just give in to their obvious chemistry, they’d deny me and it drove me absolutely bananas.

Starfish had such a great mix of sensuality, angst, tension, humor, and drama, that once my schedule allowed me to settle properly, I couldn’t stop turning the pages to find out what happened next. Having spent the better part of my twenties entangled in adventures on the road with friends and with an old, favorite band of mine, this fun and sexy story brought back tons of fond memories.

I’m so glad I got to read this book in advance, and I can’t wait to check out more of Lisa’s work. If you’re looking for a new rockstar to adore, go meet Brad and let him sweep you off your feet! You won’t regret it!

Until next time, happy reading!
