“You know what you want, and you go after it. I don’t think there is anyone in this town doubting that Evelyn Hugo is going to be the biggest star in Hollywood one of these days. And that’s not just because you’re something to look at. It’s because you decided you wanted to be huge, and now you’re going to be.”  pg97

This book is an effortlessly, timeless and hauntingly real book. It is so good and real to the point that you start googling the characters, trying to find out more about their stories. I think it is a must read for anyone who likes character driven books, a vibrant and vivid background and romances. Without a doubt, there are better books out there with more representation and deeper values, however I truly believe that this book is a great starting point. Personally, this book got me into Literary Fiction and Adult Romance. If you like YA Contemporary/Romance and are not sure where to start next, this is the book for you! But be prepared… because it is a tear jerker :(

“Evelyn who was your great love? You can tell me.”
Evelyn looks out the window, breathes in deeply, and then says, “Celia St. James.”
