This is a book written by a white male that features graphic violence against both a Black woman and a Black boy. While the writing is good (though wordy and slow at times), I struggle to really respect the fact of a white author capitalizing on violence against Black bodies. So that makes it really hard for me to be able say this was a good book worthy of being suggested to others.
