The Iron Heel by Jack London
2.0
I really enjoyed the beginning and the ending of this novel. I found the middle, and most of the book for the matter, to be a constant ode to socialism. After the third or fourth speech by Ernest that portrays both himself and the socialist cause as great and beautiful, it gets very tedious. Otherwise, I enjoyed the narrative style (as a manuscript with footnotes by a "historian" from the future) and the climax at the end was riveting.
