Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes

4.0

Oh, Love Quinn, how I adore thee.

Different from the series enough to spoil anything regardless of what I decided to partake in first, Hidden Bodies was a satisfying sequel to Kepnes' You. Maybe it was the writing, maybe it was the addition of Love and Forty, but this was even better than the first for me.

Keeping in tune with the first, there was still more sexual content than I usually read in books, but that's on me for picking up the second when I knew what was coming. The story itself was a step up for me, since it went in such a different direction than it did with Beck's life in You. The new setting makes for a whole new feel, yet the familiarity of Joe's craziness makes it a perfect follow up and an outstanding new chapter in his life.

Overall, I would say you've got to read this one if you've read the first. It's just wonderful. But be careful when you make it to the third installation. That one went a little off the rails (in the boring sense).

I'm giving this a 3 and a half stars rounded up to 4, because I'm feeling better and better about it as I reflect on the story.
