4.5

[I received a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review] 4.5 stars. It’s an absolutely darling low-stakes fantasy romance, great for fans of Legends and Lattes and Howl’s Moving Castle.

And if you’re a Hades game fan, the MMC Jayce reminds me strongly of Thanatos, with his deadly job, his hair journey, and his flat reined-in persona hiding underlying deep emotions. So there’s a bit of a grumpy-sunshine couple dynamic!

The story was sweet enough to leave me grinning a lot, and the low angst was just enough to keep the story going. I would love a sequel to hear more of how this universe continues to survive. Can’t wait to read more from this author!
