I don't really know where to stand with this book. I am a sucker for Olivie's writing style, I have read most of her works and I've always been drawn to the kind of effortless sarcastic prose she has. This made reading MOD really fun, it always is. I also always enjoy how Olivie writes her dialogues, it's always really good banter. However, I don't feel any attachment with MOD, I liked the characters sure, I'm not obsessed with any of them tho. Same with the plot. I felt it was somewhat lacking substance, a little something more that usually makes her other works unforgettable. There were also a lot of characters which I liked, but I didn't feel as if they had as much depth as they usually do, they were kind of all archetypes or underdeveloped in some way. Still a fun read, with really fun creatures (and original too!), but definitely not a favorite of hers sadly.
