I picked this one up after Coley's bookish sock set subscription for August showed up, I just KNEW I needed to read this one. Coley's colorway paired grapefruit pink and lemon yellow and just screamed SAM at me, so here we are. And now I think I've got a new go-to book recommendation!

This book checked every box for me. Our FMC, Clementine (side note: what are the odds I read two books back to back with a FMC named Clementine???), is decidedly not perfect. Her imperfections are executed in such a way that she feels relatable and not just an unapproachable mess. She's vulnerable and real with emotions that just suck you into the page. Then enters Iwan (which I've been reading as Ian in my head when I know it's yoo-uhn okay) and he's even better than I could have imagined. His little tiny tattoos make me just so stinking happy.

I wasn't anticipating a magic twist, but that's what I get for going into a book completely blind and based 100% on a mood board. That being said, I think not knowing about the magic made it that much better.

I recommend this book to: the messiest parts of ourselves, blankie enthusiasts, everyone who appreciates a really good hug, anyone needing a reminder that they're worthy of love and happiness and fulfillment, foodies who find eating to be emotional and borderline transcendent, believers in a perfect meal, and the wanderers.
