I was fascinated by the stories told in this book. Women have endured much. I spent a lot of time thinking of my life in the USA compared to the women in this book. It is amazing to me how far we have come from our mothers and grandmothers. (For context I am an older woman). I remember my mother not being able to have her own credit card even though she worked. I remember when I requested to tie my tubes after my fourth child was born, I was told to bring in my husband so it can be discussed. A divorce was already in progress but I still needed his permission, (I could not obtain it and was not given the operation). I love the strength the women telling these stories have (or had).
