This book is sinful in all the right ways.

A friend of mine asked after my read and that was the scentence I gave them. This book is a lot, it's very tense, insanely dark, extremely hot, and sinful. Sinful in a way I didn't know that I needed a book to be.

This book has a flawed protagonist in many aspects that really added a lot to the book. The book is dark in tone and the things that are happening in the world, Cassius is also a very dark character. He is not a good person, not that he really has a choice in this, but undoubtedly he chooses his own life over others. He is absolutely ruthless in his drive to survive which isn't always in favor of his friends. Nonetheless he has to make those choices to stay alive and continues to do so.
I really enjoyed this about the book, at moments I too was disgusted by what he did and it added a lot to how the book felt absolutely fucked up.

I have to talk about the smutty scenes too. Because holy shits this is written so extremely sensual and hot. The first scene in the book immediately became a reread scene because it turned me on sooo much. What happened between the guys in that scene wasn't even anything spectacular. But to the characters is was huge and this was translated directly to me as a reader.
Sexy scenes later on then take this to the next level when even more is going on while the characters have their 'fun'. I don't want to spoil anything more but damn guys, that was something amazing.

I also want to say something about the way the monsters are described in this book. They are hella creepy and very disgusting. Which, undoubtedly, was the point and it delivered well. The fighting scenes around them are full of gore and gruesome wounds and the author held nothing back in that regard. Which was absolutely great. It created a very grim world with these huge beasts preying upon men and all we could do was hope they didn't spot us.

All together this book give me such feelings of doom I haven't had in other books before, with some sexy tension to spice it all up. And I loved it.

I received an eARC and this was my honest review.
