No One Is Talking About This by Patricia Lockwood
4.0
solid 4 stars.
this stupid book had me ready to quit at the 40% mark and then ready to cry from 50% onwards.
I understand the nonsensical way this was written was a direct way to show how the internet messes with us as a society, and I personally loved the obscure memes which were embedded in here that I hadn't thought about in a long long time (it me, binch) and what I believe is a reference to my favourite Jenna Marbles video corn on the cob but instead of the corn bone its a hotdog which literally added a whole star to this review.
but for real, after learning that even chronically online people like "can dogs be twins" lady aka the protagonist in this story, can learn that time away from the so-called portal brings people together and gives you a sense of inner peace, I've decided to give it ago myself.
