Filthy Beautiful Love by Kendall Ryan

3.0

This book left me feeling sort of underwhelmed.
I had such high expectations after how Filthy Beautiful Lies ended, but all that highly strung, dramatic goodness just fizzled out to a bland, mellow conclusion.
IMO it was resolved way too fast. He went after her three days after she run away, and a few days after that they were living together again as if nothing had ever happened.
I was like 'Sophie, girl, you need to make him sweat and grovel at least a liiiittle bit. Show that man he can't push you around and do as he pleases'.
But, oh well. I did want them to have their happily ever after in the end so I can't complain too much. The part that tore me apart was
SpoilerBecca's death. I was so incredibly sad. But so glad Sophie's grieving was depicted in a realistic fashion
.
And also, there was something that I felt to be a bit ridiculous in how unrealistic it was
Spoilerwho the hell has sex for the first time up against a wall?! Seriously! That whole time all that went through my head was WTH is he thinking? Clearly, he wasn't
.
All in all, I'd say the best way to describe this book would be with a shrug. It was nice, but nothing special.
