Boys of Brayshaw High by Meagan Brandy
5.0
What did I just read!?!?! My mind is still reeling from this incredible book! The angst, drama, heartbreak and lust! Oh my word!
Raven is the bad-ass heroine we all wish we were in a romance novel. She's drawn the short straw on life but refuses to let it define her. She's been called every name in the book and insulted beyond belief but she just brushes off the dirt and moves on. She will not follow in her mother's footsteps. She will not be the trailer trash she grew up as. When she turns 18, she's going to get out of this hell and never look back. Until she meets the Brayshaw Boys...
“Nothing wrong with having people in your corner, Raven.” “Sure there is.” “Why’s that?” “If your corner’s already empty, no chance of losing anything along the way.”
Maddoc, Royce and Captain are the entitled, powerful, alpha assholes who run Brayshaw High, and the entire town for that matter. No one crosses them, no one ignores them and everyone fears them. The trio are family, regardless of their bloodlines. Nothing will come between their allegiance, especially not a girl.
This book oozed deception, passion, disgrace, desire and malice. Around every turn was a new shocking encounter or scandalous situation. It seems that no matter which positive moves the characters made, someone was watching and waiting to knock them down a peg.
“If someone tries to hurt you, I need you to tell me.” “I can’t do that.” He pushes closer, his expression angrier. “Why not?” “Because I’m not your problem.” “Be my problem.”
I have never wanted to scream at a couple to just hook up already as I did with Rae and Maddoc. It felt like the entire novel was a giant c0ck tease! The back and forth rivalry, the electric tension crackling between them every time they were alone. So much tension and I loved every darn minute of it!!! The slow burn of the romance in the story was awesome and made the FINALLY moment just that much more incredible!
The cliffhanger at the end left me clinching my fists and fuming! Book 2 cannot come fast enough!
