this one is such a weird novel. its nice seeing the twins become people, but erland really doesnt get much to do, marriage is seen as a happy ending (james and gamina [still unsure how james never met gamina given how much he knows, and has travelled and interacted with katala]), locky gets fridged, and the only real failings of any of our characters were relegated to side characters, or characters of colour.
