A New Hope: The Princess, the Scoundrel, and the Farm Boy by Alexandra Bracken

5.0

I have loved Star Wars since I first saw it as a little girl and was extremely excited when I heard that they were making a 7th movie. With the new movie coming out, I knew that tons of new Star Wars books and items would be being released and I wasn't disappointed. As soon as I heard about this books being written for the middle grade genre, I had to get them. Plus I thought the covers were so cool.

Before reading this one, I had just rewatched the movies, and I was pleased to see that this book didn't deviate from the original Star Wars canon. It stuck to the plot, and gave us some insight into a few scenes we don't necessarily see completely played out in the movie. As an added bonus, the book was written by Alexandra Bracken who is a phenomenal writer and it flowed smoothly and quickly!

I also really liked the illustrations placed sporadically throughout the story. They added an extra element of fun to the books.
