Thank you to Edelweiss, Atria Books, and Simon & Schuster for the opportunity to read and review this book before it's publication date! This in no way affected my review, opinions are my own.

Y'ALL. READ THE BOOK.

There, that's it. That's the review.

Okay, just kidding. But in all seriousness, this book was absolutely fantastic. I have only read one Fredrik Backman before now, but that's definitely going to change - I could not get enough of this story, these characters, his writing. It's all just so ... RELATABLE.

Anxious People embraces the mundane every day feelings of just existing in a way that I've never read before. You are hooked from the very first sentence of the very first page, and I'm telling you this book doesn't let you go until the end (and even then, you'll find yourself thinking about it days and weeks and months afterwards). The chapters are short, the sentences quippy, and the characters oh-so-perfect in their imperfectness.

There are so many wonderful quotes in this book - far too many to list here (and I'd basically be handing you the best bits of the book, and I would never take that from you.) The characters are some of the best I've ever read, and I'm fairly certain I ended this book having fallen in love with all of them in ways big and small.

(Also important to note that it's amazing in written form and it's amazing via audio as well. Honestly, it's worth a reread via audio afterwards anyway, just so you can revisit it all over again and be clobbered yet again with how good it is!)

This book is about a bank robbery. And it's about being in love. And about being sad. And about being a parent. And about grief. And about limes. And about being enough for someone, and for yourself. And it's about laughter, and joy. And it's about a bridge. And it's about fixer uppers - both in real estate and in people. And it's about us. People. Especially the most anxious of us.

If you can't already tell, this one comes with the utmost highest of big recommendations from me!
