Code Name Verity is an amazing book. I don't think my words can do Code Name Verity any justice but I will try. I also have to be careful writing this review as I really do not want to give anything away (which is really hard to do). One thing that I absolutely adored was the way it was written and I loved Julia's and Maddie's narratives, which is completely different from any other book I've read, and as readers we had a great insight into the minds and the personalities of the two women, aswell as their friendship, and I thoroughly loved it. One main thing was that it felt utterly and completely real and I could sympathise with the characters. The story and plot was great and so intriguing which kept you reading and it felt so realistic and it seems like so much heart and research has been put into Code Name Verity. The friendship was beautifully written and it was actually heartbreaking towards the end. One of my favourite quotes was “It's like being in love, discovering your best friend”.

I also had not expected the death of Julia, especially by Maddie's hand, but then you think, if that was your best friend who wanted to die instead of the hell she was heading to and the hell she'd already been through, would you do it?

Lovely book and I would highly recommend.
